Today there was a protest meeting in downtown Reykjavik.
Around a thousand people attended.
Few speaches where made, and it was a peaceful protest.
But at new years, there will be more people that will loose their work, and be unemployed.
Then they think that protests will be more aggressive.
And in Akureyri ,there was also a peaceful protest.
Thank you for putting up the picture and comments on your blog. My sense is that Iceland is at the leading edge of the financial and other problems facing the world. So it is very instructive to see how the people are dealing with these difficulties.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would really like to know is how people are dealing with this crisis? How are people managing ? Are public services being affected? Are people getting paid at their jobs? Can the krona still buy things locally? Is there inflation in the prices of basics such as food, gas, energy?
Thanks again for the blog!
