Iceland votes NO on Icesave on april 9. 2011

The " NO " had the national referendum yesterday.
So Iceland is in more trouble than before.
UK and Holland will probably go for the courts, and there Iceland will probably loose, and have to pay much more money.
Danny Alexander, deputy finance minister in the UK, says that they are very dissapointed on the national referendum here in Iceland.
And also that now the courts have to decide on the outcome.
That can take many years.
In the meantime, inflation will go up ,and unemployment will increase.

  1. Corrupt and reckless Icelandic bankers and politicians had no right to obligate the citizenry of Iceland for a bunch of stupid loan guarantees.

Iceland is not only a sovereign nation; it was also settled by Vikings.

Which foolish British banker wants to try hassling a bunch of Vikings?

    Go Iceland. We support you.

  2. Congratulations on being educated voters who aren't intimidated by their servants. The losses were not yours to pay and weren't guaranteed by your government. Like all banks, you pays your money and takes your chances.

At this time I think it's a good idea to suggest that you as a nation open talks with NAFTA on joining the North American customs union. We will welcome you with open arms and without preconditions. You can keep your currency. You're already on our telephone system, all of us drive on the right, and most of us speak English. We also have as many people of Scandinavian descent as does Europe - just go to Minnesota if you don't believe me. And wasn't Canada once your colony, about 900 years ago?

  4. You will see that the dictatorship of the EU will force you to pay back whatever people said.

    What's the consequence?

    1. We should leave the EU, alone we are strong enough to survive
    2. We should not longer support banks, electric power companies etc.
    3. We should forbid that capital is allowed to keep profits but to "socialize" losses!

  5. Dori why don't chaps like yourself who want to pay the bank debt off get together and do so without forcing the rest of Icelandic taxpayers into doing likewise?
