Great evening to see the Aurora over Reykjavik
The forecast for the aurora overe Iceland on 2014 - is quite good -
But here are a few photos i took in December 2013 of the aurora with friends .

Took this a few minutes ago in Reykjavik in Iceland . The sky was as you can see - spectacular. Northern lights in full swing and the movement and colors , just extraordinary

Yoko Ono turns on Imagine Peace Light tonight in Iceland - photos

Tonight at 20:00 hours , Yoko Ono held a short speach and then turned on Imagine Peace Light , that is on annually , between the birthdate of John Lennon , October 9. and is turned off at the date of his death.
 She invited everybody to come and see the Light being turned on .
 And today , Yoko Ono was awarded the honorary Citizen of Reykjavik , by the Mayor of Reykjavik,mr. Jon Gnarr.
 Only 5 persons have had this title in Reykjavik .
 The weather was great and lots of people showed up to the the light . The light is on an island in Reykjavik.

Yoko Ono will turn on Imagine Peace Light tonight in Iceland Photos

Yoko Ono will light the Imagine Peace Light tonight at 20:00 hours local time.
Many will  attend the lighting ceremony.

Icelanders swimming in the cold North Atlantic Ocean video and photos

Today many people took part in swimming in the ocean in Reykjavik. 

It is to celebrate the art of swimming , and for people to swim more. 
Icelandic Coast Guard had two of its boats there to take part in the celebration.
They even had a swimming race , from the Coast Guard boat , to land . 
But they also just enjoyed swimming , and sang along as the swam in the cold sea. 
The outside temperature was at 6 on the celcius and the sea water temp, was 7 degrees on the celcius. 
After the swimming , the swimmers went to the hot water pool nearby ,to get some heat into their bodies, and to accept some medals for their part in this today .
